What is the “Sanrio Character Award”?
The “Sanrio Character Awards” is a popularity voting event for Sanrio characters that started in 1986 on Sanrio Co.’s monthly newspaper “Ichigo Shinbun” and is now in its 39th year. 90 characters were selected from over 450 Sanrio characters to be entered in this year’s event. This year, 90 characters have been selected from more than 450 Sanrio characters. Voting is available on the official Sanrio Character Awards website (https://ranking.sanrio.co.jp/ ), at Sanrio stores nationwide, and at Sanrio online stores. Votes can also be cast through events held on the official Sanrio application “Hello Sweet Days” operated by Cocone.
